Showing Japan is a group of volunteers, dedicated to introduce Japanese culture
in the Houston area.
It was started by the Japanese parents whose children went to local school.
The school asked parents to volunteer to show our culture as a part of school curriculum.
In 1989, as the interest in our culture was growing, we established a nonprofit organization, Showing Japan, to manage the request for cultural education.
At the onset, our budget came from Japanese Supplementary School.
But now we are the under the management of the Japanese Business Association
and also the contributions from the organizations we visited make our presentations.
Our activity was highly recognized and received Japanese Foreign Ministers Award
in March 2004.
